About HELP Foundation
Human Effort for Love & Peace Foundation J&K (HELP Foundation J&K), was born out of the need to support women and children caught in a web of violence, that erupted in J&K in the 1990s’. Since its establishment in 1997, HELP has been actively working to uplift the vulnerable groups, focusing on women & children. We are present within the communities, feeling the pulse at the grass-root levels and coming up with solutions through active participation of the communities where we work.
We believe that empowering women will empower the vulnerable household and the community around. Our verticals work around the central theme of Women-empowerment. We achieve this objective by working on various themes inter-woven with one another, through direct and indirect interventions. Our main verticals are providing Livelihood support and skill development (focusing on traditional arts & crafts of J&K) Education & protection of women, youth & children, Healthcare for frail and needy, Sports & theatre engaging youth & children, Heritage revival (for promotion and conservation) and Relief and rehabilitation (in times of disasters and natural calamities), and working on Disability issues & rights.
