This was followed by adopting a small primary school in Kupwara, which gradually became a High school. The school, Shah Anwar Memorial School Khumriyal was one of the first schools to promote girls' education in the area. One more school was adopted in Langate village in Kupwara, however it was handed over to the school committee managed by reputed local citizens.
